The Sri Lanka Institute of Service Management is a professional body for Service Management in Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lanka Institute of Service Management a company registered (limited by guarantee) in Sri Lanka. Company registration number GA 00203975, was created to drive the industry forward through fully accredited qualifications that evolve with the demands of consumers, technology and wider society.

Our registered office address is at 277 New Hunupitiya Rd, Dalugama, Kelaniya, Sri Lanka.

When you supply your personal information, you're agreeing to receive regular news and updates about SLISM, events, membership, courses, research and career programmes for the service management industry.

We may share your personal data with:
a) Our business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors as part of our relationship with you, and after confirming that they will only process your information on our instruction and while using appropriate security.
b) Our auditors, legal advisers and other professional advisors or service providers.
In the case of personal data obtained via our websites:
a) analytics and search engine providers that assist us in monitoring usage of our websites, subject to our cookie notice below.

We may share your information with third parties:
a) If we sell or buy assets, in which case we may disclose your personal information to the prospective buyer or seller, subject to the terms of this privacy notice.
b) If the assets of SLISM or any organisations which are part of SLISM are acquired by a third party and members and contacts are one of the transferred assets.
c) If we are legally required to share your personal data, or in order to enforce or apply our contractual terms and conditions with you.
d) To protect the rights, property, and safety of SLISM, our members, and others. This includes sharing your personal information with other organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and preventing cybercrime.

If we transfer or store your data outside of Sri Lanka we will take steps to make sure that your data is protected as if it were stored in Sri Lanka.

We won't keep your personal data any longer than we need to.
We will keep your personal data for as long as you are a member, have attended an event and have given your consent to marketing.
If you withdraw your consent, we will keep your details to make sure we don't contact you again for marketing purposes, and for our own legal, regulatory, and accounting purposes.

Membership details and payments are kept for a statutory 6 years under Accounting practices in Sri Lanka.

We are led by customer-first principles and want to inform you of your personal data rights.

If you decide to remove or view the data we hold about you, we may need to confirm your identity. If this is the case, we will let you know, and would need to see some form of ID, like your NIC Card or passport.

In order to offer as much clarity as possible, we will supply links to the Data Protection Authority website (when fully operational) so you can read further into your data rights and what they mean.

a)  The right to be informed - you have the right to know what we are collecting and how we are collecting it.

b)  Right of access- you have the right to know whether we are processing your personal data, and what we are processing. We will respond within 28 days of receiving your request.

c)  Right to rectification - you have the right to have any incorrect personal data corrected or completed if it is incomplete. We will respond within 28 days of receiving your request.

d)  Right to erasure - this right, often referred to as the right to be forgotten, allows you to ask us to erase personal data where there is no valid reason for us to keep it. We will respond within 28 days of receiving your request.

e)  Right to restrict processing - you have the right to ask us to restrict processing of your data. We will respond within 28 days of receiving your request.

f)  Right to object - you have the right to object to our processing of your personal data based on
(i) legitimate interests, or for the performance of a task in the public interests/exercise of official authority (including profiling);
(ii) direct marketing (including profiling); and
(iii) for purposes of scientific/historical research and statistics.
